The annual award is given to attorneys in Coastal Virginia who have exemplified excellence in their field over the course of the year. Only a select number of attorneys are chosen in each practice area based on specific criteria.
Coastal Virginia Mag's 2024 Top Lawyers Winners
Each year, Coastal Virginia Magazine conducts a peer-to-peer survey across the legal field to determine which lawyers should receive recognition for their work in the industry. The individuals designated as “Top Lawyers” in their practice area have demonstrated success characteristics and earned the respect of their fellow lawyers.
Attorneys selected as a top lawyer must have a current, active license status with the state regulatory board (Virginia State Bar) and not have any disciplinary actions. Lawyers selected for the honor practice in the Coastal Virginia region, including the cities of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Newport News. Winners are considered “outstanding legal professionals” by the publication and announced in January of each year.
